You're not alone. Hair loss affects approximately 85 percent of men and 40 percent of women, according to research. So if you have decided to take action and restore your hair through a transplant, the next question is — FUE or FUT?
Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT), sometimes called the "strip method", removes a strip of scalp from the back of the head, which is then dissected under a microscope into individual follicular units that are implanted into the recipient area. FUT can transplant a very large number of grafts in a single session, but it leaves a linear scar at the donor site.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) removes follicular units one by one directly from the donor area using a micro-punch, then implants them into thinning areas. FUE leaves only tiny pinpoint scars that are invisible even with very short hair, and recovery is significantly faster.
At Cozmaa Clinic we predominantly perform FUE because of its minimally invasive nature, lack of linear scarring, and faster recovery — but the right choice for you depends on the number of grafts needed, your hair characteristics, and lifestyle. Book a consultation with our team to determine which method is right for you.
